The Turks and Caicos Islands host Government hospitals located on both Providenciales and Grand Turk. Providenciales also has several private clinics offering UK trained doctor services, optometrists, chiropractic, dental services and a decompression chamber.
If necessary, the house staff will assist you in finding the most appropriate doctor.
The most common problems encountered by visitors are sunburn, dehydration and insect bites. It is strongly recommended to use sunscreen at all times when you are outdoors. Your fluid intake will need to be above what you are used to at home due to dehydration from the sun and the wind. Closing your doors in the late afternoon and using a spray insect repellent can prevent insect bites.
In case of emergency, the clinics on island are capable of stabilizing most conditions and, if necessary, transferring the patient by air-ambulance jet to a hospital in Florida.
Guests are advised to check that their Insurance covers for repatriation costs before they arrive.
